Dr. Chalfant is USDA accredited to issue international and interstate health certificates. Most interstate health certificates require only an exam within 10 days of travel and current vaccinations. International and travel to rabies free countries or states, such as Hawaii, Guam, Japan, etc will require extensive testing and detailed records, which can take up to 6 months to prepare for.
We recommend that if you are considering traveling with your pet to a foreign destination, start by looking up specific requirements listed on the USDA APHIS pet travel site. You can select your destination and see the list of requirements. We are happy to help you further traverse these requirements to get your pet ready for travel, just make sure there is adequate time as failure to meet requirements can lead to quarantine of your pet upon arrival.
